Full Stack Engineer

Learn more about our team and company story here.  What is the purpose of this role in the delivery of our mission?  As a Full Stack Engineer, you will be responsible for a full software development cycle: Design => Develop => Test => Deploy => Operate => Support. We have dedicated DevOps and QA, but we are looking for someone that has a strong experience of understanding the full cycle and who can deliver end to end. Has good exposure to TDD and DevOps.

What the role involves
What are the key responsibilities / activities of the role:
  • Design, build and maintain RESTful APIs.
  • Translate designs and wireframes into high-quality code Understand business requirements. Translate the business requirement into technical requirements.
  • Design, build and maintain high performance, reusable and reliable code Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs.
  • Develop new user-facing features as well as APIs.
  • Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
  • Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders.

What is the scope of accountability for the role:
  • Designing, Building and maintaining RESTful APIs
  • Full responsibility of the software development cycle

What are the essential skills, qualifications and experience required for the role?
  • Server-side development experience e.g., Node.js.
  • Strong experience in software engineering.
  • Excellent understanding of microservice architecture, serverless and virtualization (Docker).
  • Experienced in React, Redux, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3 & pre-processor languages like SASS.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript ES6+.
  • Experience in designing, building and maintaining RESTful APIs
  • Proficiency with SQL/NoSQL (Preferably MongoDB and DynamoDB).
  • Version control best practices using Git.
  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix administration.
  • Familiarity with AWS cloud platform (Preferably Lambda, EC2, EB, IAM, SQS, SNS, CI & CD, API Gateway, Route 53, CloudFormation, S3).
